Dad’s Day

Today is a day for dads. Your dad situation might not look like other people’s. Your dad situation might make this day hard. The hardest part of this day for you might be finding something that comes even close to making your dad realize how important he is to you.

This day isn’t just about biological dads either. This day can be about any man that has shown up in a big way in your life. Honor those guys. The ones that show up when they don’t have to do it are heroes, too.

So, here’s to those bio dads, adopted dads, step dads, grand dads, uncles, brothers, and friends that show up big, everyday for the kids in their lives. Thank you. Thank you for hugs, thank you for support, thank you for tickles, thank you for gas money, thank you for advice. Thank you for being there. Without you, the world would be lame.

Especially thank you to my hubby. You make the kids laugh like no other person (even if I find it mildly annoying at bed time). And you are basically the only human they listen to at all. We are super lucky to have you on this wild adventure with us. Thanks for working your butt off so that we can live like professional vacationers. You barely raise an eyebrow at my craziness, which is pretty much the best gift of all. This pic is a throwback, but I love it.

Thanks to my Gumpy, who will never likely read this… Not a day has ever passed in my life when I didn’t know for certain that you were in my corner, cheering me on. I don’t even have a single clue who I would be if it weren’t for you.

Mucho thanks to Matt, for making my Mom laugh and making her happy. Thanks for always having a hug and goofy joke.

Thank you to Pawpaw. You gave my kids a super awesome dad. You are always on the sidelines, cheering on all of your little all stars. I have no idea how you manage to make it to the soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and whatever else games and performances for 13 kids, but you do it! And, you never complain.

And, last but not least, thanks to Poppy. There have been many ups and downs over the years, but we are all super happy to have you in our life. Thanks for the camping tips, the laughs, and all the fun. Thanks for Whitney, too. She is awesome. 😉

And, if you are still reading this momentary lapse of sentimentality, thanks to you!
